College, High School and Advanced Middle School Players
Join our summer outdoor grass doubles league to maximize your summer training! Players are exposed to the doubles game to maximize touches and develop all-around skills. Focal points include out-of-system hitting, increasing defensive range and expanding offensive repertoire.
The goal of the Advanced Doubles League is to create a pathway for players who have the fundamentals of volleyball to advance to a higher level of competition such as high school and/or club volleyball.
*Must be able to serve from the end line.
New High School & Middle School Players
Join our summer outdoor grass youth instructional program to learn volleyball fundamentals and meet new friends! Our coaches will teach you the basics of passing, setting, serving and hitting. Our outdoor program philosophy is built around maximizing player reps and increasing court movement.
PROGRAM FEES
Full program fee payments are due at the first practice. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. No players will be turned away because of inability to pay. However, every participant is expected to fund raise to help offset the costs incurred in our program. Cash, or checks payable to the “Philadelphia Starlings VBC” are acceptable forms of payment.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
All Philly Starlings Outdoor participants must fulfill a community service requirement that involves a Philadelphia Parks and Recreation event. If a player does not fulfill this requirement, they may become ineligible for any of our future teams and/or programs. Make up community service opportunities are available upon request.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Practice attendance is expected. If a player will be missing a practice, that player must contact the lead coach before the scheduled event by EMAIL or TEXT.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We will do everything we can to avoid cancellations due to weather. However, some are unavoidable.
Cancellations will be posted by 5:00pm on the Philly Starlings Google calendar and sent via email. Please check for cancellations prior to leaving for practice.
We will NOT reschedule cancelled sessions.
We reserves the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule any programs because of low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. In the unfortunate case a program is canceled, we will issue a full refund of the fees paid. We cannot be held responsible for any related costs, charges or expenses.
